The EPJ School District has announced a major technology boost thanks to a new partnership with Thermobond, resulting in the addition of 12 high-tech computers to the district’s technology lab.
Thermobond, a longtime supporter of EPJ’s efforts to expand opportunities in technology and the trades, has demonstrated its commitment once again. In recent years, the company has donated materials—including lumber for the building trades class—and now follows up with a generous $40,000 contribution to strengthen the district’s tech equipment and learning resources.
“We’ve had such a great relationship with EPJ, and the Elk Point community that we want to encourage education and keep those students who graduated to stay in the community and work for us,” said CEO Bill Riley.
Superintendent Schonebaum said, “In regards to growing our school and opportunities it is critical to have partnerships with community members, businesses, and nearby locations. The job market we are preparing our kids for looks vastly different today than a decade ago, and it will continue to change. Ultimately, the ability to add additional technology opportunities as well as a potential E-sports opportunity for our students is something that I am extremely excited for. It would not be getting done if it wasn’t for Thermobond.
Community members can learn more about this growing partnership in today’s edition of the Leader-Courier.
EPJ remains dedicated to building strong relationships with local businesses, industry leaders, community members, and organizations to enhance educational opportunities for students. Those interested in partnering with the district are encouraged to contact philip.schonebaum@k12.sd.us.
