Sailor Kommes was the solo state qualifier.
She will compete in Madison on June 2nd & 3rd.

Softball travels to Scotland today to play a varsity triangular for their final games of the regular season. The Huskies will play Scotland/Menno at 3:30 and Alcester-Hudson at 5 pm.
The softball game with Madison will be played tomorrow (Wednesday, May 21) at the Sanford Pentagon fields with the varsity at 12:00 pm followed by JV. This game is rescheduled from Tuesday, May 20
DAK XII Conference Golf has been cancelled for tomorrow (Wednesday, May 21) due to weather and course conditions - this event will not be made up.
The softball game for today in Madison has been postponed - we are working on a possible reschedule date and will advertise if we can work something out

Softball Senior Night is Monday, May 19 at 6:30 pm when the Huskies take on Centerville. This is also the last regular season home game in 2025.

Yesterday, we celebrated our seniors as they walked through the school, cheered on by students in grades K-11. Seniors proudly wore clothing representing where they plan to attend school or begin their careers this fall.

The DAK XII Conference Track Meet scheduled for tomorrow (May 15) has been postponed to Monday, May 19 with Jav/HJ at 12:30, Field events at 2:30 and running at 3:30 pm in Canton.
The Girls Golf Invitational scheduled for tomorrow (May 15) has been postponed due to incoming weather. It has been rescheduled to Tuesday, May 27 with same time and location.

As part of Teacher Appreciation Week, Elk Point-Jefferson High School proudly celebrated one of its own on May 8, 2025, during a special signing ceremony recognizing students committed to entering the teaching profession. Among them was senior Leonel Carrillo, who officially signed his intent to attend Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota, where he plans to pursue a degree in education. Leonel has been a dedicated member of the Elk Point-Jefferson Educators Rising Chapter for the past two years. Through this program, he has attended multiple college expos and engaged in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that have deepened his understanding of—and passion for—the field of education. It was during one of these events, held at DWU, that Leonel discovered a strong connection to the university’s community and educational philosophy, solidifying his decision to continue his journey there. EPJ Educators Rising advisor Karlene Stabe shared heartfelt words about Leonel’s character and promise:
“Leonel is a very caring, passionate student with a bright future in education. It has been a pleasure mentoring him these past two years and watching his growth. I truly believe he will be an incredible addition to the teaching profession, and I am extremely proud of all he has accomplished.”
EPJ is honored to celebrate Leonel’s commitment to shaping future generations and thanks him for choosing a path that will impact lives for years to come.
