Good Afternoon Husky Nation!
This is a message to notify constituents that we have agreed to partner with a new busing company. This company is a South Dakota-owned company out of Miller, South Dakota. The school district has been working with the First Student group for the past 4 years and decided that we needed to explore options for consistent routes. An email indicating the route driver information for routes 1 through 5 will be sent out later today. There may be some hiccups in the transition, but once we are up and running, consistency and predictability in busing should be expected.
Have a great rest of your weekend!

Good Morning, Husky Nation!
We wanted to share some important information regarding school safety. Many schools in South Dakota, including Elk Point-Jefferson, follow the **Standard Response Protocol (SRP)** from the *I Love U Guys Foundation*. This protocol is designed to ensure clear and consistent communication during any emergency situation.
We encourage all families to familiarize themselves with the **5 key terms** used in this protocol, which are essential for school safety. You can learn more by clicking the link below:
[Standard Response Protocol Overview](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1U1yOAyog8thtVkaJOI7sI3pBUd1t7_Of/view?usp=sharing)
As part of our safety efforts, we will be conducting a **Lockdown Drill** in the near future. Please know that students will be informed upon announcement that this is a drill, and educational support will be provided to ensure they understand the process. After a drill, of this magnitude, we will notify parents so you’re aware that your child(ren) participated and practiced these safety procedures.
Thank you for your continued support in keeping our school community safe!
Go Huskies!
Respectfully,
Philip Schonebaum

Message from First Student Group: There could be some delays after school today due to a shortage of bus drivers for Elk Point-Jefferson Routes. There will be 4 routes after school today which may increase route times. Thank you for your patience.
