On October 8th Mrs. Stabe's Anatomy students had an amazing experience at the SCRUBS Career Health Exploration Camp at Yankton Avera Hospital. Throughout the day, students attended a variety of breakout sessions highlighting exciting career paths in the medical field — including Radiology Tech, Health Science, Public Health, Nurse Anesthetist, Dental Hygiene, Medical Lab Tech, Nursing, and Applied Behavior Analysis. They also got plenty of hands-on experience, from examining teeth and suiting up in dental gear, to practicing subcutaneous injections and testing “urine samples” for glucose levels. The day wrapped up with a college fair where students explored programs offered in healthcare and took home a t-shirt and swag bag full of goodies! It was a fantastic day filled with learning and exploration, giving students a real-world look at the many possibilities awaiting them in the world of health and medicine.

Our Educators Rising students had an incredible day at the Briar Cliff University Expo today! They were inspired by Iowa Teacher of the Year, Melanie Bloom, whose powerful message reminded us all why great teachers make such a lasting impact. Students took part in a variety of hands-on activities that sparked their creativity and deepened their understanding of what it takes to be an educator. They also gained valuable insight from a panel of college students who shared real-world advice about choosing a college, living in a dorm, and exploring different career paths in education. The day wrapped up with a fun prize giveaway, and every student went home with a great gift. Events like this are helping to shape and inspire the next generation of educators, and I'm so proud of our students for representing our school with enthusiasm and professionalism!
