Huskies Sparklers, a collaboration between EPJ Cheer and EPJ Special Olympics, kicked off today! ✨ Our first practice included introductions, jumps, wrestling cheers, and reaction-time drills as we began this collaboration with a Special Olympics athlete interested in cheer. We’re proud of the effort and enthusiasm shown today!

Our Educators Rising students are leading a service project to support families in our school community by creating Birthday/Literacy Celebration Kits. Each kit will include everything a parent needs to make their child a birthday cake, along with balloons, candles, and a gift certificate for the school book fair so the child can choose a book of their own and will be available for families who need help with celebrating their child's birthday. These kits will be available to pick up in the elementary and high school offices while supplies last.

To help fund this project, we will be hosting a Cakewalk fundraiser on February 3, 2026, during halftime of the boys and girls basketball games. Tickets are only $1 each and only 96 tickets will be sold. We invite our community to come out, have some fun, and support this meaningful cause.

If you are unable to attend the cakewalk, we will also be sharing a link to an Amazon Wish List for those who would like to support the project by purchasing items online.
Thank you for helping us celebrate birthdays, literacy, and community—one cake and one chapter at a time.

Thank you EPJ Huskies. You made Generosity Week a success!! Our Penny Wars were able to raise over $172 for the EPJ Special Olympics Team!! The seniors won with a +1785 points. The staff members were sabotaged and ended up with -1796 points, with the rest of the high school falling in between.

The weather did not cooperate with our Coat Drive, but we are planning on a reschedule date of January 6th, 2025. Be on the lookout for more information on the Coat Drive!

Mrs. Westin's first graders were sad to say goodbye to their wonderful student teacher, Miss Hillrichs. She joined them at the start of the year and will move onto 4th grade after break! We are so grateful for the care, enthusiasm, and dedication she poured into our students. She will be an amazing teacher! 🖤💙 Thank you for everything, Miss Hillrichs! 🌟

New additions around EPJ: Communication Banners! These were part of the EPJ Special Project Fund that Ms. Cass applied for. Currently there are banners in the following locations: each office, each sensory room, the cafeteria and two on the playground. When the new building addition is finished, there will be ones located in each gym and the library. Communication banners are visual supports designed to help students express needs, make choices, and participate in daily activities when verbal communication may be limited or inconsistent. They are not a replacement for speech, but a tool to support and expand communication. Why We Use Communication Banners: •They provide students with a consistent way to communicate across settings and staff. •They reduce frustration by giving students a clear, accessible way to express needs. •They support independence, decision-making, and self-advocacy. •They align with inclusive practices and support diverse communication styles. The goal is to create an environment where every student has a voice and feels understood. Communication banners are one of many tools that help us do just that.

The EPJ HS Band had an amazing time over the past two mornings spreading holiday cheer to our little Huskies down in the elementary school!

We were proud to share a wide variety of ensembles. Yesterday featured our woodwind groups — a flute trio, clarinet quartet, and saxophone sextet — and today our brass choir brought the holiday spirit to life.

It was such a joy to come together as a school community and celebrate the season through music. Moments like these truly remind us of the power of music to connect us all. ❤️🎄
